GETTING TO PEC
BY CAR
Prince Edward County is just south of the 401 at Belleville, a 2.5 hour drive from the GTA. Take highway 401 to Wooler Road (County Road 40) south, then Loyalist Parkway (Highway 33) through Carrying Place.
If coming from East of Belleville, you can take the free, year-round Glenora Ferry from Adolphustown across the Bay of Quinte to Glenora, near Lake on the Mountain. It is a very beautiful ride!
BY TRAIN
VIA Rail runs from Toronto, Montreal, and Ottawa daily to Belleville. From Belleville, it is easy to take a taxi (~$85) to Picton, or Uride (the local equivalent of Uber, ~$65), or if you time it right there is the County Transit bus from the bus station ($10). If you call County Transit ahead of time, they can help with connections between VIA Rail and Picton/Bloomfield on weekdays.
BY PLANE
Those wishing to avoid driving are best flying into Pearson (YYZ). You can connect directly from there via the UP Express train to the VIA Rail train via Union Station.
GETTING AROUND PEC
URIDE
There is no Uber in PEC but they have a local version called Uride. It works in much the same way but you are required to install the Uride app. Service is generally good (and drivers are available at all times of day/night) but it’s best to book a car more in advance than you would in a major city!
TAXIS
There are several taxi companies, they are primarily owner operator services so there are not a lot of cars and it’s best to pre-book if you need to be somewhere on time!
COUNTY TRANSIT
The local bus service connects all the main towns and many tourist sites. It has a unique feature allowing you to pre-book a pickup if you’re staying on a bus route even if there isn’t a bus stop. Here's the link to their website.
